BRRDS Payload Revision

BRRDS was the last rocket built before I joined the club, and while we were still designing the 22-23 rocket, we relaunched BRRDS. In anticipation of the launch I was tasked with redesigning the payload frame which had experienced issues in the past.

Cameras

The whole system was designed around two cameras for in flight footage.

Design

A 3d modeling of the cameras was used to create a side view of how the cameras would fit.

Slots

The frame has two side slots that slide onto fixtures in the rocket to prevent rotation.

Video

Here is some video from the launch. (Warning: video is very erratic due to poor rocket stability)

Conclusion

Overall, this was a pretty simple project. It was good to work with specific objective oriented goals. Not a lot of trouble was encountered with this, and the project was executed successfully
